How vehicle detection integrates with other smart alarms
The effectiveness of vehicle detection is enhanced by its combination with other smart detection features, which are often configured within the NVR's event settings. 
Line-crossing detection
How it works: You draw a virtual line on the camera's field of view.
Vehicle integration: An alarm is triggered only when a vehicle crosses that line. You can specify the direction of travel that will trigger the alarm, for instance, a vehicle entering a property but not exiting. 
Intrusion detection
How it works: You define a specific, enclosed zone on the camera's live view.
Vehicle integration: An alarm sounds if a vehicle enters the designated intrusion zone. You can set a time duration to prevent alerts from vehicles that quickly pass through the area. 
Region entering/exiting detection
How it works: You define specific areas and trigger an alarm when an object enters or leaves that region.
Vehicle integration: This offers a more flexible alternative to intrusion detection, allowing you to trigger an alarm based on a vehicle's specific movement direction relative to a defined area. 
Object abandoned/removal detection
How it works: The system analyzes a static scene to detect if a new object is left behind for an extended period or if an existing object is removed.
Vehicle integration: This can detect if a vehicle is unexpectedly parked in a restricted zone for too long (abandoned) or if an authorized vehicle is moved without permission (removal). This feature works best for monitoring fixed, static areas like a designated parking spot. 
General NVR alarm system points
Customizable actions: You can set different actions for each alarm type. Options typically include a screen prompt on the monitor, a buzzer sound, pop-up windows, and recording linkage.
Alarm schedule: All smart detection features can be configured with an "arming schedule." This allows you to set specific days and time intervals when the alarm functions are active.
Real-time notifications: When an alarm is triggered, the system can send instant push notifications to your mobile device via the VIGI app.
Tamper detection: Separately, the NVR can trigger an alarm if a camera's view is obstructed, blocked, or if the device is vandalized. This is configured with a separate sensitivity setting.
